A pizza shop has been granted a late-night licence extension despite objections from residents concerned about potential noise and disorder.

The Waltham Forest Licensing Act 2003 Sub-Committee approved the variation for Tops Pizza, located at 764 Lea Bridge Road, Walthamstow, to extend its late-night refreshment hours from 2:00 AM to 4:00 AM seven days a week.

The decision was made on Monday, October 5, 2026, following a review of an application that received eight representations from other persons. These objections centred on the licensing objectives of preventing public nuisance, public safety, and preventing crime and disorder.

Despite these concerns, the sub-committee decided to grant the variation in full. However, specific conditions were imposed to mitigate potential issues, as detailed in the Decisions 05th-Oct-2026 10.00 Licensing Act 2003 Sub-Committee.

New Operating Conditions

Deliveries will now be restricted to the premises' own employed drivers and must be conducted from the front of the shop after 10 PM. Furthermore, no walk-in customers will be permitted during the extended hours of 2 AM to 4 AM.

The sub-committee concluded that these conditions were appropriate for upholding the licensing objectives. Parties involved have the right to appeal the decision to Thames Magistrates' Court within twenty-one days.
