Barbican Centre to Launch New Food and Drink Residency, Spiritland

The Barbican Centre is set to launch a new food and drink residency, Spiritland, in its Lakeside Room, aiming to enhance the visitor experience and complement its renowned arts programme.

The establishment will occupy the former Brasserie space and is scheduled to run until at least July 2027. Spiritland is a collaboration with a duo described as amazingly collaborative by the Centre, who have been working with them over the past few months. This partnership builds on the duo's extensive experience, having previously operated a successful Spiritland venue in King's Cross for a decade.

The initiative is part of the Centre's broader catering services strategy, intended to provide visitors with an additional reason to visit the Barbican and encourage exploration beyond planned activities. The venture aims to establish Spiritland as a new destination within the building, complementing the Centre's music programme.

The decision to introduce this new residency was discussed as part of the Centre's strategic planning, as outlined in the Public reports pack 06th-Oct-2026 10.30 Barbican Centre Board.
