Greener Ealing Limited: Council Approves 2025/26 Accounts and Appoints External Auditor

Ealing Council's Shareholder Committee has approved the annual accounts for Greener Ealing Limited, a council-owned company, and agreed to appoint Menzies LLP as the company's external auditor for the upcoming financial year.

The committee met on Monday, October 12, 2026, to review Greener Ealing Limited's financial performance for the 2025/26 period. The accounts showed a profit before taxation of £176,503, a decrease from the previous year's £264,770. No dividends were paid during the reporting year.

Greener Ealing Limited delivers essential frontline services including waste and recycling collections, street cleansing, grounds maintenance, and parking enforcement across the borough. These services are crucial to supporting Ealing's strategic objectives.

Beyond financial profitability, the company is expected to contribute to the Ealing Council Plan 2026-2030 and Ealing's strategic objectives, particularly in supporting essential frontline services, workforce planning, and effective democratic oversight. Specifically, it contributes to the 'Community for everyone' strategic objective by delivering clean, safe, and well-maintained neighborhoods, and to the 'Growth across all 7 towns' objective by being a significant local employer and service provider, supporting employment and economic activity. The company's contribution to the 'Power in your hands' objective is strengthened through the Shareholder Committee's consideration of its accounts, audit arrangements, and performance reports, supporting effective democratic oversight.

During the meeting, the committee also considered and approved the appointment of Menzies LLP as Greener Ealing Limited's external auditor for the 2026/27 financial year. Menzies LLP had previously served as the company's auditor for the 2025/26 period.

The meeting, detailed in the Public reports pack, was chaired by Councillor Peter Mason, Leader of the Council, and attended by Councillor Louise Brett, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Safe and Genuinely Affordable Homes, and Councillor Stephen Donnelly, Cabinet Member for Inclusive Economy. Tony Clements, Chief Executive, was also in attendance. The committee's consideration of these matters aligns with the Ealing Council Plan 2026-2030 and Ealing's strategic objectives.
