Earl's Court residents are worried about the potential impact of extended opening hours after a local Burger King was granted a 5 AM license, with concerns that other establishments may follow suit. The issue was raised at a Kensington and Chelsea Full Council meeting on Wednesday, 16 July 2025, by Cllr Tim Verboven, Earl's Court ward councillor.
Cllr Verboven voiced concerns that the license granted to Burger King could lead to multiple other establishments seeking similar extended hours.
He warned that this situation raises fears of increased antisocial behaviour and challenges for local enforcement, as existing public protection measures may be undermined by the additional late-night activities
, particularly given the lack of police presence during those hours.
The council did not debate the issue, but Cllr Verboven's statement highlights growing unease among residents about the potential consequences of allowing businesses to operate for longer hours in the area. The council is expected to monitor the situation and address any arising issues related to public safety and antisocial behaviour.
