Hammersmith and Fulham Council is set to invest £1.1 million in a Parks Improvement Programme, aimed at enhancing the environment for residents. The investment in cemeteries will be considered separately.

The decision was made at a Cabinet meeting on Monday, 14 July 2025, where Councillor Florian Chevoppe-Verdier, Cabinet Member for Public Realm, introduced the Parks Improvement Programme, highlighting the importance of enhancing the quality of the environment for residents. The Parks Improvement Programme, detailed in a report to the cabinet1, will focus on improving various aspects of park infrastructure. Councillor Wesley Harcourt, Cabinet Member for Climate Change and Ecology, highlighted the significance of parks during heatwaves, noting that green spaces and shade are vital for residents.

Councillor Jose Afonso, Leader of the Opposition, welcomed the attention given to parks and inquired about playground improvements. Councillor Stephen Cowan, Leader of the Council, responded that playground improvements were being considered with a focus on the latest ideas and research.

The Cabinet approved the Parks Improvement Programme requiring investment of £1.1m million.
