Alexandra Palace is set to strike a chord with music lovers as it officially confirms its partnership with the BBC Concert Orchestra, becoming the Palace's first Associate Orchestra.

The partnership aims to provide the BBC Concert Orchestra with performance and rehearsal opportunities at the venue, while also strengthening the existing relationship between the BBC and Alexandra Palace.

The announcement was made during the Alexandra Palace and Park Consultative Committee meeting on Thursday, 17 July 2025, where Emma Dagnes OBE, Chief Executive of Alexandra Park & Palace, provided an update on the Trust's vision to Create a Sustainable Home for All That We Do, according to the Chief Executive Vision and Goals Update Report.

The partnership strengthens an already established relationship with the BBC, which sees Friday Night is Music Night and Later with...Jools Holland both recorded in the Theatre. It also extends the BBC's presence at the Palace, which began with the first public television transmission in 1936 and continued as the BBC broadcast their ground-breaking programmes from their studios here.

In addition to performances and opportunities to rehearse in the venue, the partnership will see the BBC Concert Orchestra explore education opportunities for local communities through the Creative Learning programme.
