Councillor Nurullah Turan has been appointed as the new Vice-Chair of Licensing Sub-Committee D in Islington, following a meeting of the Islington Council Licensing Committee on 14 July 2025. The change was made to replace Councillor Paul Convery, who previously held the position, according to the Public Reports Pack.
The committee convened to address formal matters and amend the membership of its sub-committees. Councillor Heather Staff, Chair of Licensing Committee, noted apologies for absence from some members, and no declarations of interest were made. The minutes of the previous meeting held on 10 June 2025 were approved and signed.
The key decision made was to adjust the composition of Licensing Sub-Committee D. The updated membership now consists of Councillor Clare Jeapes as Chair, Councillor Nurullah Turan as Vice-Chair, and Councillor Phil Graham as a member, according to the Printed Minutes of the meeting.
The Public Reports Pack for the meeting also detailed changes to other sub-committees that had been agreed at the meeting on 10 June 2025:
- Licensing Sub-Committee B: Councillor Bashir Ibrahim (Chair), Councillor Marian Spall (Vice-Chair), and Councillor Nick Wayne.
