Enfield's Equalities Board convened on Monday, July 21, 2025, to address critical issues including domestic abuse, health inequalities, and the council's ongoing efforts to promote fairness and inclusion.

The board reviewed the minutes of its previous meeting on March 19, 2025, where Jonathan Toy, Head of Community Safety, provided an update on hate crime within the borough, noting a small reduction overall but an increase in antisemitic hate crime since October 2023. Toy also highlighted that violence against women and girls remains a top priority within the Safer Stronger Communities agenda.

Glenn Stewart, Assistant Director of Public Health, presented a report at the previous meeting outlining the extent of health inequalities across Enfield and the proposed plan to tackle them. The board also received a presentation on the Fairer Enfield Policy Refresh from Tinu Olowe, Director of Human Resources & Organisational Development, and Saskia Morris, Policy & Performance Officer.

The Equalities Board also noted its Terms of Reference, which define its role in overseeing the council's efforts to eliminate discrimination based on protected characteristics as defined by the Equalities Act 2010. These characteristics include age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation.

The board also discussed and prioritised items for the Equalities Board Work Programme 2025-26.
