Waltham Forest Council is in the process of appointing a new Corporate Director of Resident Experience and Digital, following a meeting of the Staffing Committee on 3 September 2025. The Staffing Committee interviewed candidates and is expected to decide on an appointment for the post.
The new director will play a crucial role in shaping resident experience and driving digital transformation across the council. Success will be measured by residents experiencing more seamless and joined-up support pathways, increased resident satisfaction and trust in council services, and a cultural shift across services toward proactive, preventative resident-first thinking.
The Staffing Committee, comprised of Councillor Andrew Dixon (Portfolio Lead Member - Stronger Communities), Councillor Marion Fitzgerald, Councillor Sharon Waldron (Mayor 2024-2025) and Councillor Rosalind Doré, convened to interview candidates for the newly created role. The new director will report to the Chief Executive, Linzi Roberts-Egan, and manage three Assistant Directors.
The Corporate Director of Resident Experience and Digital will be responsible for designing and implementing a council-wide strategy for resident experience, leading transformation programmes that will deliver financial benefit to all service areas, driving the council's Digital Roadmap, managing resident-driven service design, overseeing enterprise technology architecture, infrastructure and systems delivery, and leading the activities of Resident Experience & Business Support. According to the Public reports pack 03rd-Sep-2025 13.30 Staffing Committee, the shortlisted applicants had already undergone a technical interview.
The Staffing Committee has delegated authority from Full Council to make appointments to chief officer posts, in accordance with s.7 of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989. Financial provision for the post exists within the council budget.
