Haringey Music Service is set to relocate to Alexandra Palace by 30 October 2025, a move designed to enhance collaborative opportunities and unlock increased commercial use of the Transmitter Hall. The relocation was discussed at the Alexandra Palace and Park Board meeting on 18 September 2025, according to the Public Reports Pack.
The move is the result of collaboration between Mark Civil, Head of Creative Learning, Louise Johnson, Head of Strategic Planning and Projects, and core Alexandra Palace teams, who are finalising lease arrangements. Dan Early, Head of Haringey Music Service, has already toured the site with the Haringey Council lease team, and the lease has been informally signed off, pending final documentation.
The relocation aims to foster new partnerships and opportunities. A strategic meeting is scheduled between Alexandra Palace, the North London Music Hub, and the BBC Concert Orchestra to explore joint programming and establish a two-year roadmap for collaborative initiatives.
Mark Civil and Melanie Fry from BBC CO are also set to join the North London Music Hub Board once it is formally established.
Furthermore, Haringey Music Service has been named as a secondary partner in a capital funding application submitted to Arts Council England for the redevelopment of the Transmitter Hall. This redevelopment aims to support a broader range of partnership-led activities and unlock increased commercial use of the space, generating sustainable income for the Creative Learning department's long-term growth and impact.
The Alexandra Palace and Park Board met to discuss various matters, including the Chief Executive's report, the annual report and financial statements, and updates from advisory committees. The meeting agenda and reports are available on the Open Council Network website.
