Monthly sensory-friendly sessions are set to begin at the Dugdale Arts Centre (DAC) in October 2025, responding to community feedback. These sessions specifically address the needs of neurodiverse children and their families.
The Culture Team is launching these sessions, making the DAC an accessible venue for these events. The team, according to the Dugdale Arts Centre Operational Update report, aims to get underrepresented people involved, provide culturally relevant events, support local talent and create space for community voices.
Beyond the sensory-friendly sessions, the Culture Team is also working to make the Dugdale Arts Centre more accessible to people with other disabilities. They currently run dementia-friendly sessions with Age UK and are signing up to the Mayor of London's Dementia Friendly Charter, according to the Public Reports Pack.
The Dugdale Arts Centre, located in Enfield Town, is open to the public Tuesday to Saturday, from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM. It offers a theatre space, a café, a small retail shop, and the Museum of Enfield.
