Tower Hamlets Council is set to review its health and safety compliance policies, covering asbestos, fire, and gas safety, for the Housing Management Service.
The review is scheduled for discussion at the Housing Management (Cabinet) Sub-Committee meeting on 24 September 2025. The agenda for the meeting indicates that Mayor Lutfur Rahman and Councillors Kabir Ahmed, Shafi Ahmed, and Maium Talukdar will be among those in attendance.
The Sub-Committee will consider the approval of six health and safety compliance policies, including those for Asbestos Management, Fire Safety, and Gas Safety. The Approval of the Housing Management Services 6 Landlord Health and Safety Compliance Policies document provides further details.
In addition to the health and safety policies, the Sub-Committee will also discuss and consider a new Complaints Compensation Policy and a new Income Collection Policy for the Housing Management Service.
The Housing Management (Cabinet) Sub Committee is a Cabinet Sub–Committee established to consider matters relating to the delivery of the Council's Landlord Housing Management function.
