Roehampton has seen a concerning rise in reports of robbery, violence, and abuse, according to the latest data presented at the Wandsworth Safer Neighbourhood Board meeting on Wednesday, 8th October 2025. The data, part of the Safer Neighbourhood Board Data Pack, reveals a significant increase in personal robbery, violence against the person, and domestic abuse reports in the area.

According to the data pack, when comparing June to August 2025 with February to March 2025, Wandsworth saw a 17.9% increase in violence against the person. This compares to an inner London increase of 8.8%, and a London-wide increase of 7.7%.

Personal robbery also saw an increase in Roehampton. Domestic abuse reports in Wandsworth increased by 17.0% when comparing June to August 2025 with February to March 2025. This compares to an inner London increase of 10.1%, and a London-wide increase of 9.3%.

Councillor Graeme Henderson, Cabinet Member for Health, spoke at the meeting, saying that the council has launched three Oberlin CCTV cars, which have already been very successfully deployed. He also said that three more community safety officers have been employed, who will be focusing particularly on Battersea. The reason for this focus was not explicitly stated in the meeting information.

Superintendent Gani Rajan addressed the board regarding the data pack, noting some discrepancies and providing a revised version to be circulated. He highlighted that while there was an increase in total notifiable offences, a 25% decrease in shoplifting had been observed in the last four weeks. He also mentioned that the largest increase in personal robbery was in Roehampton, and that the inspector for Putney and his team are looking at the data to determine the next steps.

Superintendent Rajan stated that after reviewing the circulated data pack, some discrepancies were found. The local authority data team provided a new data pack, which was to be circulated by email, but the specific discrepancies were not detailed in the meeting information.

The Wandsworth Safer Neighbourhood Board continues to monitor crime trends across the borough and work with local police and community partners to address areas of concern. The agenda for the meeting included updates on stop and search, custody procedures, and presentations on video appointments and hidden abuse. The minutes from the previous meeting can be found here.
