Gospel Oak residents will have the opportunity to shape a new learning programme designed to equip them with the skills and knowledge needed to actively participate in service reviews and drive positive change in their communities. The initiative was discussed at the Gospel Oak District Management Committee (DMC) meeting on Thursday, 19 June 2025.

The programme aims to empower residents to participate in service design and place-shaping, encourage continuous learning, foster a culture of participation, and equip residents with advocacy skills. It will also focus on strengthening collaboration between residents, the council, and other community stakeholders.

The learning programme will target involved residents, unregistered resident associations, leaseholder associations, and community volunteers. Key partners include Adult Community Learning (ACL), Camden's Learning & Development Team (L&D), Voluntary Action Camden (VAC), and Good Work Camden.

The programme content will feature a mix of essential, vocational, and subject-specific learning, delivered over rolling semesters. Learning will be offered online, in person, and through self-managed access, with sessions available during the day, evening, and weekends. A pilot semester is expected to begin in the summer or autumn of 2025.

The Gospel Oak DMC budget for 2025/2026 is £151,040.00. A bid for £3,740.00 was submitted for well-being activities and equipment purchase for the Gospel Oak Sheltered Housing Scheme.

The DMC Constitution and Code of Conduct for 2025/26 was also up for agreement at the meeting. The constitution states that The District Management Committee (DMC) is constituted as an advisory committee to the Council's Cabinet, addressing housing and related district issues.
