A licence transfer for Sican, a restaurant located on Whitfield Street, has been put on hold due to concerns raised by the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS). The Camden Council Licensing Panel D discussed the matter at their meeting on 19 June 2025, ultimately siding with the police objection.

The MPS argued that transferring the premises licence to a new company, S1CAN Limited, with the same director, Mr Nicolo Mascitti, would undermine the crime prevention objective. According to the MPS, the application to transfer the licence came after the original licence was revoked, a decision currently pending appeal in the magistrate court. The MPS believed that the transfer would simply replicate the circumstances that led to the revocation.

The Licensing Panel D, which included Councillor Joseph Ball, Councillor Matt Cooper and Councillor Sabrina Francis (Cabinet Member for Jobs, Young People and Culture), considered several other licensing applications at the meeting. A new premises licence was approved for Urban Chocolatier, located on Kentish Town Road, despite initial objections from local residents and Councillor Joseph Ball. The panel also approved a variation to the premises licence for Domino's Pizza, also on Kentish Town Road, after the applicant agreed to additional conditions.
