Wandsworth's adult social care services have been rated 'Good' by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), councillors heard at a recent Council meeting. This represents a significant improvement, with one councillor suggesting that under the previous administration, the services might have been rated as 'inadequate'.

The CQC's rating reflects the hard work and dedication of the social care team, and the council's commitment to providing high-quality services for vulnerable residents. The CQC inspection specifically highlighted the borough's commitment to person-centered care, effective community partnerships, and a strong focus on prevention to keep people healthy.

Councillor Dobre praised the social care team for their work, noting the CQC's findings that the services were safe, well-led, and caring. The CQC report highlighted the borough's commitment to person-centered care, effective community partnerships, a strong focus on prevention to keep people healthy, and innovative approaches to improving outcomes for residents. The report also noted the kind, compassionate, and respectful care provided to residents. The CQC report mentioned innovative approaches to improving our outcomes for residents.

Councillor Jeremy Ambache, Mayor of Wandsworth, congratulated Jeremy de Souza, the Executive Director, and all the staff in adult social services who were inspected by the Care Quality Commission, CQC, and deemed to be good. He noted that the CQC highlighted the borough's commitment to person-centered care, effective community partnerships, a strong focus on prevention to keep people healthy, and innovative approaches to improving our outcomes for residents. He also noted that the report stated that the care was kind, compassionate, and respectful.

Wandsworth's adult social care services are also performing well compared to other boroughs. Councillor Graeme Henderson stated that Wandsworth's customer service user overall satisfaction is now in the upper quarter and fourth in London overall. This is a key performance indicator (KPI) for the council, and represents a significant improvement from June 2022, when a health committee report showed a wall of red KPIs, indicating poor performance, and when customer service user overall satisfaction was in the lower quarter in 2021.

The CQC inspection report provides reassurance for older people, disabled people, and other vulnerable service users, and for carers who depend on Wandsworth's adult care services.
