Croydon Council is moving forward with the selection process for a new Director of Streets and Environment. The Appointments & Disciplinary Committee (ADC) conducted interviews with a number of shortlisted candidates on Wednesday, 29 October 2025.
The committee agreed to interview a number of candidates at the meeting on the 1st of October.
The ADC met to progress full panel interviews for the role. Details of the job description, including the specific skills and experience the council is seeking, and salary are available in the agenda pack from the 1 October 2025 meeting, accessible on the council's website.
Councillor Lynne Hale, Vice Chair of the Committee and Chair for the day, opened the meeting by welcoming attendees, including Councillor Jason Cummings, Councillor Scott Rush, Councillor Stuart King, Councillor Coulson, Gerard Heron, and Commissioner Reeve-Baptiste. Michelle Ossei-Gerning served as Committee Clerk.
The committee then moved to exclude the press and public to conduct the interviews in private, citing Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972. Councillor King seconded the motion, which was subsequently agreed upon.
Prior to the exclusion, the committee addressed standard agenda items, including apologies for absence and disclosure of interests. The minutes of the previous meeting were deferred to a future ADC meeting due to the proximity of several meetings in October.
