Greenwich Council has debated a motion to take a zero-tolerance approach to anti-social tenants, including eviction for those who disrupt their communities.
The motion, titled Getting Things Done - Greenwich Labour Taking Action to Tackle Anti-Social Behaviour and Make Our Streets Safer
1, was put forward at a council meeting on Wednesday 29 October 2025, as part of a wider discussion on tackling anti-social behaviour in the borough. Councillor Rachel Taggart-Ryan, Cabinet Member Community Safety and Enforcement, and Councillor Raja Zeeshan initially proposed a motion to invest in community safety through prevention, education, and enforcement.
An amendment to the motion, proposed by Councillor Charlie Davis and Councillor Roger Tester, called for a zero-tolerance approach to tenant anti-social behaviour, including the eviction of tenants who disrupt their community. The amended motion was ultimately deferred.
The meeting information does not specify the reason for deferral or the next steps.
