Tower Hamlets Council is considering changes to fees at Mile End Park, potentially taking effect in the 2025/26 municipal year. The King George's Field Charity Board is responsible for administering the affairs of the King George's Field, Mile End charity, and its remit covers most of Mile End Park, including the Mile End Park Leisure Centre and Mile End Stadium, as well as ten shop units beneath the 'Green Bridge'.
The King George's Field Charity Board is scheduled to discuss a review of fees and charges for the King George's Field Trust (KGFT) at its meeting on Wednesday, 29 October 2025, according to the agenda. The board, which includes Mayor Lutfur Rahman and all members of the Cabinet, will also discuss finance, activity and governance updates related to the trust, including an update on Fields in Trust funding, and commercial property recommendations and updates.
The KGFT manages several pieces of land in Tower Hamlets, including Stepney Green Park, Whitehorse Road Open Space, Tredegar Square, and most of Mile End Park.
The Public Reports Pack states that the King George's Field Charity Board is responsible for administering the affairs of the King George's Field, Mile End charity, and the King George's Field – Stepney charity, discharging all duties of the council as sole trustee.
The board will also note its Terms of Reference membership and quorum for the 2025/2026 municipal year. The membership of the board consists of all members of the Cabinet, and the quorum is three members.
