New guidance has been created to help schools in Bromley ensure that visits from faith speakers enhance pupils' learning in Religious Education (RE).

The Bromley Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education (SACRE) discussed the new best practice guidance at their meeting on Monday 3 November 2025. The guidance aims to help schools embed the learning experience as part of the curriculum, enabling pupils to 'learn and remember' more.

The document provides suggestions for teachers and speakers before, during, and after the session. It was informed by Ofsted expectations, past experience and guidance regarding best practice.

The SACRE action plan for September 2025 to September 2026 includes supporting SACRE speakers as one of its aims. The action plan also includes interfaith dialogue CPD and resources.

The SACRE annual report for 2024-25 stated that several SACRE members have undertaken training to secure a personal kitemark with the RE Hubs for visits with schools, and that the guidance materials reflect salient points from the training provided here.
