Camden Council's Pension Fund is facing increased fraud risks due to rising cyber threats targeting investment operations, according to a recent Pension Board meeting.

The board reviewed the Pension Committee Update Report at its meeting on Wednesday, 5 November 2025, which highlighted the increased risk score on Risk number 18 - Fraud risk (investment operations). This increase reflects the rising likelihood of cyber-related fraud impacting investment activities. To mitigate these risks, the fund is exploring cyber-security risks with fund managers and the Pension Shared Service to ensure systems are robust and protected from hacking, especially those with a more quantitative nature.

The meeting, which was chaired by Councillor Camron Aref-Adib, Cabinet Member for Finance and Cost of Living, also included Ashleigh Calf and Vinothan Sangarapillai.

The update report summarised the reports and decisions made at the Pension Committee meetings on 17 July 2025 and 22 October 2025. The report pack included a risk register, highlighting the increased fraud risk.
