Hackney Council Approves New Strategy to Combat Violence Against Women and Girls

Hackney Council is set to intensify its efforts to combat violence against women and girls, approving a new strategy at a recent Cabinet meeting. The Eliminating Violence Against Women & Girls (VAWG) Strategy 2025-2029 aims to build upon the existing framework and incorporate new national and MOPAC (Mayor's Office for Policing and Crime) strategies expected to be published in autumn 2025.

The decision, made on Monday 24 November 2025 by the Hackney Cabinet, underscores the council's commitment to tackling VAWG within the borough. The new strategy will replace the current one, which expires in 2025, and is designed to align with emerging national and regional initiatives.
