Ealing Council is set to give residents more power over regeneration projects through a new Community-led Regeneration Charter. The council aims to create a charter that sets out clear rights for residents to shape and control the decisions being taken in their communities on housing and employment.
The Local Development Plan Advisory Committee met on Wednesday, 26 November 2025, to discuss the draft charter, which aims to give residents clear rights to shape decisions on housing and employment in their communities. The council hopes to gather feedback from residents, community groups, and developers on the draft charter.
According to the Public Reports Pack, the new Community-led Regeneration Charter will sit alongside the recently published Community Charter
. The charter will be a concise document outlining commitments and providing a toolkit for meaningful engagement between the council, its partners, and the community. It will include clear roles, responsibilities, and examples of best practices, including case studies. The charter will also signpost to existing regeneration strategies.
Councillor Shital Manro authored the report on the charter, with support from Esra Abd Elrahman, Project Coordinator, Housing Development. The meeting provided an opportunity for the committee to hear firsthand experiences and perspectives on regeneration from various stakeholders.
The move comes as Ealing anticipates increased regeneration and development. The council recognises the importance of local voices in shaping and informing effective regeneration projects.
