Croydon Council's Cabinet is set to review a report from the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman (LGSCO) concerning a complaint regarding care funding, as part of its meeting on 25 June 2025. The report focuses on the council's decision to withdraw nighttime care funding for a resident, Miss X, leading to scrutiny of the council's adult social care practices.

The meeting, scheduled to address a range of critical issues, will also focus on the council's financial stability, scrutiny recommendations, family services, climate action, and performance against the Mayor's Business Plan. A key item is the approval of a Stabilisation Plan 2025, designed to address the council's financial challenges and achieve £27.3 million in savings for 2025/26. This plan is a response to conditions set by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) for Exceptional Financial Support (EFS).

The Cabinet will also consider recommendations from various sub-committees, covering topics such as contract performance data, Healthy School Streets schemes, and workforce risk management. Responses to previous recommendations concerning winter planning, public health peer review, equalities, gambling, and complaints will also be reviewed. Discussions will also take place regarding the Family Hubs Model and Children's Centres, including a public consultation on realigning the current Children Centre Model into the Family Hub Locality Model, potentially expanding services to 0-19 year olds (or 25 with SEND).

According to the meeting summary, The Plan is a subset of the Future Croydon Transformation Plan and supports the accelerated delivery of the benefits set out within it as agreed at Cabinet in March 2024.
