Hackney Council is set to review its Night Time Economy Strategy in March 2026, as part of its ongoing efforts to support local businesses and enhance community safety.
The Skills, Economy and Growth Scrutiny Commission discussed the upcoming review during their meeting on 9 December 2025, as part of a broader discussion of their work programme for 2025/26. The commission aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the strategy and schemes such as Ask Angela, which were suggested by members.
The review, scheduled for the March 2026 meeting, will provide an opportunity to assess the impact and effectiveness of the Night Time Economy Strategy, which will have been implemented for approximately six months at that point. The strategy aims to create a vibrant and safe environment for residents and visitors during the evening and night hours.
The Skills, Economy and Growth Scrutiny Commission is responsible for scrutinising the council's policies and performance in relation to skills, economy, and growth. The commission's work programme is a working document and is regularly updated to reflect the changing priorities of the council and the community.
