Enfield's Mayor, Councillor Margaret Greer, has selected the Royal Free Charity, the Black Heritage Hub, and Macmillan Cancer Support as the beneficiaries of her Mayoral Charity Appeal Fund for 2025-26.

The Mayor of Enfield chooses the charities for the Mayoral Year, and for 2025-26, Councillor Margaret Greer made the selection. The trustees then agreed to proceed with the chosen charities at the Mayor's Charity Appeal Fund meeting on Monday, December 8, 2025. The Agenda outlined the selection of charities for the Mayoral Year 2025-26 as a key item.

The Royal Free Charity's North Mid Red Cell Services Fund, which supports adult and paediatric red cell services at North Middlesex University Hospital, is among the chosen charities. The Black Heritage Hub, an organisation focused on empowering the Black community in Enfield by creating a vibrant business and cultural hub, will also receive support. Macmillan Cancer Support, which supports those affected by cancer in Enfield, completes the list.

The amount raised by the Mayor's Charity Appeal Fund varies each year. For example, in 2024-25, the fund raised £9,388, while in 2023-24, it raised £27,045, with an additional £2,416 matched by Barclays Bank for two specific charities.

To ensure accountability, the trustees have agreed that donation recipients will provide details of how the donations were spent within a set timeframe. Evidence of this has been received for funds raised in 2023-2024.
