Kingston Council is seeking a new Director of Finance, with interviews scheduled for shortlisted candidates at the Senior Staff Panel meeting on Tuesday, 16 December 2025. According to the Agenda frontsheet, part of the meeting may be held in private due to the discussion of exempt information.

The Senior Staff Panel, comprised of Councillor Andreas Kirsch (Leader of the Council & Portfolio Holder for Heritage and Culture and Co-Chair - Corporate and Resources Committee), Councillor Alison Holt (Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Economic Development & Co-Chair - Place Committee), Councillor Jamal Chohan (Deputy Leader of the Opposition; Opposition Spokesperson for Leisure and Economic Development), Councillor Emily Davey (Portfolio Holder for Housing & Co-Chair - People Committee), and Councillor Sabah Hamed (Portfolio Holder for Adult Social Care, Public Health and Equalities and Co-Chair - People Committee), will convene to conduct the interviews.

The panel will consider excluding the press and public from a portion of the meeting because it is likely that exempt information, as defined in paragraph(s) 1, 2 and 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Act, would be disclosed and the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information.

Section 100(A) (4) of the Local Government Act 1972 allows for the exclusion of the public when confidential or exempt information is likely to be disclosed, as detailed in the Public Reports Pack.
