Newham Council is evaluating the equality impact of its experimental traffic scheme in the West Ham Park area, known as Area 8, as part of the People Friendly Streets initiative. The scheme aims to prioritise pedestrians and cyclists, reduce traffic, and improve air quality in residential areas.

The council's assessment is detailed in the Equality Impact Assessment (EQIA), which forms part of a broader evaluation of the scheme. The EQIA assesses the potential impacts of the scheme on different groups within the community. The evaluation also includes a Scheme Masterplan, a General Arrangement document, an Engagement Report, and a Statement of Reasons.

The Scheme Masterplan and General Arrangement documents provide details of the traffic calming measures implemented in Area 8. The West Ham Park TMO OKD Report provides a comprehensive overview of the project.

The Engagement Report summarises the feedback received from the public and stakeholders during the consultation process.
