Hounslow Council's Cabinet has approved the sale of six council garage sites and the site at Clements Court for the development of new social rented homes. The decision, made during a meeting on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, will see these sites transferred to a selected Registered Provider(s) with the council retaining 100% nomination rights for the new properties.
The move is part of the Registered Provider Small Sites Programme, aimed at increasing the supply of affordable housing within the borough. Authority has been delegated to the Director of Regeneration and Economic Growth, in consultation with the Lead Member for Assets, Regeneration and Development, to finalise the selection of the development partner, agree the capital receipt based on independent valuation, and set the terms and conditions for each disposal.
Councillor Tom Bruce, Deputy Leader of the Council and Cabinet Member for Assets, Regeneration and Development, introduced the report on the programme. The Cabinet unanimously agreed to the disposal of the sites, a decision that supports the council's commitment to providing much-needed social housing.
