Hammersmith and Fulham's Family Hubs are celebrating their second anniversary, marking two years of providing vital support to local families.
The milestone was acknowledged during a Full Council meeting on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, where a special motion was put forward to celebrate the occasion.
Councillor Alex Sanderson and Councillor Nikos Souslous proposed the motion, highlighting the significant role the Family Hubs play in the borough. The motion commended the dedicated staff, volunteers, and partner organisations for their tireless efforts in supporting children, parents, and carers.
Family Hubs, located at the Stephen Wiltshire Centre, Tudor Rose Community Centre, and Old Oak Community Centre, offer a range of free services. These include health advice, parenting support, careers guidance, youth clubs, and social sessions, all aimed at strengthening early-help provision and improving access to health and wellbeing services.
The motion also reaffirmed the administration's commitment to these essential services, emphasizing their importance in ensuring that every child in Hammersmith & Fulham has the best possible start in life. This initiative was contrasted with national and local Conservative policies that have seen funding cuts to Sure Start centres and the sale of community centres.
