Ealing Council has approved its budget for the upcoming financial year, which includes plans for £20.5 million in savings and revenue growth, described by the council leader as a historic no-cuts budget.

The Cabinet met on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, to sign off on the 2026/27 budget and medium-term financial strategy. The approved budget aims to deliver £11.9 million in savings in the 2026/27 financial year, with a total of £20.5 million planned over the period up to 2029/30. Additionally, £30.4 million in revenue growth has been allocated for pressures and investments.

Councillor Peter Mason, Leader of the Council, commended officers for their work in developing what he termed the first no-cuts budget in fifteen years. This marks a significant milestone, implying a period where budget cuts may have been necessary in previous years. The budget proposals were put forward ahead of the final Local Government Finance Settlement. In recognition of this, authority has been delegated to the Strategic Director, Resources, in consultation with the Leader and the Cabinet Member for Inclusive Economy, to make any necessary adjustments to the budget proposals should the final settlement differ significantly from expectations.

Further details on the budget proposals can be found in the 2026-27 Budget Strategy Report FINAL, with supporting documents including Appendix 1 - Draft 2026-27 Revenue Budget and Appendix 2 - Pressures and Investments and Savings 2026 2030.
