Hammersmith and Fulham Council's housing repairs service has received a substantial assurance
rating following an internal audit, indicating a sound system of control. The findings were presented at the Audit Committee meeting on Monday, March 16, 2026.
This positive assessment means that the controls in place for housing responsive repairs are considered well-designed and consistently applied, enabling effective service delivery. The 'substantial assurance' rating signifies that appropriate controls are in place which are well designed and consistently applied to enable effective delivery of the services provided. The audit report highlighted several areas of good practice, including the transparency of the repairs webpages and the resident-led scrutiny provided through the Fire, Building Safety and Repairs Working Group (FRAG). Robust monitoring arrangements for contractors and the Direct Labour Organisation (DLO) were also noted as strengths.
While the audit found no high or medium priority actions needed, seven low priority actions were raised, all of which the service is actively addressing. The audit of Housing Gas Safety also received a substantial assurance
rating.
