The Brent, Lewisham and Southwark IT Committee meeting on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, was marked by a somber acknowledgement of the recent passing of two key members of the Shared Technology Service (STS) team: Tim Green, Head of Technology and Strategy, and Frank Lee, Security Monitoring and Performance Officer. The committee expressed its condolences to their families and colleagues, recognizing their significant contributions to the service.

The Shared Technology Service (STS) provides essential IT support and infrastructure management for the London Boroughs of Brent, Lewisham, and Southwark. Its primary responsibilities include managing service level agreements, ongoing projects, and financial updates related to IT services, as well as handling operational issues, major incidents, and service requests across these three councils.

Councillor James-J Walsh highlighted the importance of continuity planning and resilience management, particularly in light of the passing of Mr. Green and Mr. Lee. He noted that Mr. Green was the Power BI Expert responsible for reporting, and his absence has led to challenges in providing data in the same manner as before. This reliance on specific individuals for reporting has raised concerns about the team's operational continuity.

Fabio Negro assured the committee that lessons learned from Priority 1 (P1) incidents are used to inform incident response protocols and service resilience. He expressed hope that reporting issues would be resolved by the next joint committee meeting. The committee also discussed how the team learns from P1 incidents, with Mr. Negro confirming that this process is integral to improving service resilience.
