Hammersmith and Fulham Council has approved a two-year extension to its contract for the integrated substance misuse service, ensuring continued support for residents affected by addiction. The decision, made by the Cabinet on Monday, April 13, 2026, extends the agreement with Turning Point until March 2028.
The service, which focuses on prevention, recovery, and enforcement, has achieved some of the strongest outcomes in London
and aims to continue providing strong outcomes in tackling addiction and its consequences within the borough.
This extension is intended to maintain these high standards, working with the most marginalised residents to make Hammersmith and Fulham safer for everyone.
Councillor Rowan Ree, Cabinet Member for Finance and Reform, presented the paper, highlighting the service's vital role in tackling addiction and its consequences within the community. The extension signifies a continuation of the existing model, rather than the introduction of entirely new or expanded services, focusing on delivering the established prevention, recovery, and enforcement strategies.
The decision was formally documented in the Extension of Integrated Substance Misuse Service
report, available for public review here.
