Croydon Council has appointed a new Corporate Director of Resources following a meeting of its Appointments & Disciplinary Committee on Thursday, April 30, 2026. The role, which also serves as the Section 151 Officer, is critical for the council's financial management.

The committee held final interviews for the position in a private session, excluding the press and public. This exclusion was enacted under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, which permits the exclusion of the public when confidential information is likely to be disclosed. Specifically, the discussion involved the likely disclosure of exempt information falling within paragraphs 1 and 2 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act, though the precise details of this confidential information were not disclosed.

The meeting was chaired by Mayor Jason Perry, with Councillor Lynne Hale serving as Vice-Chair. Other members present included Councillor Jason Cummings, Councillor Stuart King, Councillor Enid Mollyneaux, and Councillor Callton Young OBE. Elaine Jackson, Interim Chief Executive, was also in attendance.

Candidates for the role had previously been shortlisted at a meeting on April 24, 2026. The committee acknowledged that this was their final meeting in its current format, with members thanked for their contributions over the past four years. Further details regarding the committee's proceedings can be found in the Public reports pack 30th-Apr-2026 14.30 Appointments Disciplinary Committee, and minutes from the previous meeting are available in the Minutes Part A and B of the ADC meeting of the 24th April 2026 30th-Apr-2026 14.30 Appointments.
