Havering Council has appointed a new cabinet, with Councillor Keith Prince taking the helm as Leader of the Council. The appointments were confirmed at a full council meeting held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.

Councillor Prince, representing the Reform UK Havering Group, was elected Leader for a term ending after the 2030 council elections. He secured 43 votes, with one vote against and 11 abstentions.

Announcing his new cabinet, Councillor Prince stated his intention to lead Havering with honesty, transparency and decency. He also outlined his vision for the borough, aiming to make Havering cleaner, safer, greener, leaner.

Councillor Prince stated that his administration will be a very different administration to the last one or indeed any previous administration of Havering. He added, There is a lot of work to do. We will waste no time in getting to work for the people of Havering.

Within the next fortnight, the new cabinet will produce its 100-day plan for Havering and also our longer-term ambition for the borough. This plan will detail specific policy changes and initiatives to achieve the vision of a cleaner, safer, greener, and leaner Havering.

The new cabinet members are:

  • Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Finance: Sue Benjamin
  • Adults and Health Care: Graham Day
  • Children: Kevin Guild
  • Customer Services: Sean McMahon
  • Highways: Alex Sibley
  • Housing Allocation: Martin Lardner
  • Planning and Public Protection: Terry Brown
  • Regeneration: Robert Whitten
  • Public Realm: Martinez Shekevisius
