Bromley has achieved the highest uptake of annual health checks for patients on the Learning Disabilities register in South East London (SEL), reaching 87% for 2024/25. This figure puts Bromley ahead of all other boroughs in SEL for annual health check uptake among this patient group.

Bromley Healthcare Services

This was announced at the Bromley Council Health Scrutiny Sub-Committee meeting on Thursday 3 July 2025, where members discussed updates from various healthcare providers and initiatives within the borough.

According to the SEL ICS/ICB Update, this achievement is the result of joint efforts by the Bromley Learning Disabilities (LD) Taskforce, Clinical Leads for Learning Disabilities and Personalised Care, PCN LD Champions, Bromley Mencap, and the Oxleas LD team. The Integrated Care Board (ICB) will continue to invest in this area for 2025/26, aiming to maintain and improve uptake, and expand the project's focus to include improving uptake of screening and preventive health services for this group of Bromley residents.

The SEL ICS/ICB Update also included updates on Integrated Neighbourhood Teams (INTs), the Bromley Digital Workshop, and the Bromley Covid Spring Booster campaign.

The vision for INTs is to create better connection between services and for them to work closely with communities, integrating health, social, voluntary, and community organisations to improve health and wellbeing, in line with the One Bromley strategy. The aim is to more consistently provide holistic, person-centered care, focusing on prevention and delivering care closer to home within local communities. By doing so, the ambition is to simplify access to support – including from within communities themselves – for residents, leading to better health and wellbeing outcomes for the people of Bromley.

The First One Bromley Digital Workshop was held on the 1st of May 2025, bringing together colleagues from across the One Bromley partnership to explore opportunities for enhanced collaboration and joint working, with a particular focus on patient remote monitoring and selfmanagement.

Dr Angela Bhan, Place Executive Lead – SEL ICB, provided an overview of key work, improvements, and developments undertaken by the SEL ICB and partners within the One Bromley collaborative. The committee noted the update.
