Bromley Council's Executive has agreed to retender a contract for supported living services valued at approximately £1.2 million per year, aiming to ensure continuity of support for 17 adults with learning disabilities.

The decision, made at a meeting on Wednesday 24 June 2026, will see a new provider sought for services at 109 and 111 Masons Hill, and 18 and 19 Century Way. The current provider, Achieve Together, has declined to extend its contract, which is due to end on 26 January 2027.

The retendering process is planned to commence with the procurement exercise in June 2026, with the aim of awarding a new contract to start on January 26, 2027. The procurement timetable indicates that tender documents will be issued in June 2026, with a closing date for responses in August 2026. Evaluation and interviews are scheduled for September 2026, with an Executive decision to award expected in November 2026. The proposed new contract will be for an initial five-year period, with an option to extend for a further three years, bringing the total potential value to £9.6 million over eight years.

These individuals have tenancies with a Registered Social Landlord and the Council holds sole nomination rights to these adapted properties.

Supported living services are designed to promote independence, choice, and control for residents, offering a more cost-effective and less restrictive alternative to residential care homes. The retendering process will involve co-production with residents and their families to ensure their views are considered.

This move aligns with the Council's broader strategy to support adults with disabilities to live independently within the borough and close to their communities.
