Lambeth Council has approved new housing quotas, a move that saw councillors debate and vote on several key issues during their meeting on Wednesday, July 15, 2026. The council passed a motion opposing Sadiq Khan's reduction of affordable housing quotas, following amendments from the Liberal Democrats and Labour groups.
The Liberal Democrats proposed an amendment focusing on ensuring lawful action and appropriate consultation,
which was subsequently agreed. A Labour amendment, however, was debated and voted against, with councillors noting it as potentially negating the original motion's intent.
The meeting's proceedings and documents, including the public reports pack, were available for review.
