Brent Council's Health and Wellbeing Board has pledged to review the experiences of carers and the support services available to them.

The board met on Thursday, July 30, 2026, to discuss a range of health-related initiatives, including the Working in Neighbourhoods (WIN) programme, the LGA Independent Review of Brent Health Matters (BHM), and the Better Care Fund (BCF).

The WIN programme aims to shift healthcare towards community-based prevention and integrate health, local government, and voluntary sector partners. The BHM review highlighted areas for improvement such as better integration with the wider health system and greater utilisation of the Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector. The BCF supports integrated health and social care services to help people stay independent longer and prevent hospital admissions.

During the meeting, a forward-planning session identified several key areas for future focus. Additionally, the board considered a report on the carer's experience in Brent, underscoring a commitment to understanding and improving the support provided to those who offer care.
