Bromley Council has approved an additional £2.3 million in borrowing to fund upgrades to the borough's leisure centres. The decision was made at a meeting of the council on Monday, 7 July 2025, as part of a broader set of changes to the Capital Programme.
The additional funding increases the Leisure Centres capital allocation from £35.523 million to £37.823 million. This total includes external grant funding, Section 106 carbon offset funding, and internal capital funds, according to the Public Reports Pack provided to attendees.
The approval of these changes followed discussions and endorsements by the Executive, Resources and Contracts PDS Committee on 26 March and 25 June 2025, and scrutiny by the Renewal, Recreation and Housing PDS Committee on 19 March and 3 June 2025.
The council meeting also covered a range of other topics, including updates to financial regulations, contract procedure rules, and a review of the local planning protocol.
