Bromley Council has updated its financial regulations to prohibit the use of cryptocurrency. The decision was made at a recent council meeting where councillors approved a series of updates to the council's financial framework, including updates to both the Financial Regulations and Financial Regulations for Schools.
The General Purposes and Licensing Committee had previously suggested adding a reference prohibiting the use of cryptocurrency, which was included in the updated regulations. The updated regulations were approved at the Council meeting on Monday 7 July 2025. The Update of Financial Regulations report details the changes.
