Brent Council has launched its first Conversational AI parking chatbot, designed to help residents navigate their parking experience with ease and confidence.

The chatbot aims to reduce the pressure on the parking team by providing instant answers to common queries and guiding users through various parking-related tasks. The announcement was made during a Joint Committee meeting of the London Boroughs of Brent, Lewisham and Southwark on Tuesday, 8 July 2025, where digital updates from each council were shared.

According to the Public Reports Pack presented at the meeting, Brent's digital programme has been actively delivering projects from March to June 2025. These projects include exceeding connectivity targets, providing devices to digitally excluded residents, reviewing Social Care Mosaic forms, rolling out digital inclusion support for businesses, providing staff digital skills support, launching Robotic Process Automations (RPAs), deploying Responsive Repairs and Planned Works, implementing patches and creating new dashboards in Dynamics, deploying automations, providing copilot licenses, launching a new Corporate Booking System, and launching a new contract with 8x8 Contact Centre Solution.

Lewisham presented on fibre installation to Lewisham Homes properties, completion of 4G/5G connectivity mapping, initiation of a fibre installation project to enable digital CCTV, setting up and rolling out an IT&D Roadmap, going live with procurement for laptops and support, completion of an IT Project Audit, implementation of Generic Fixed Penalty Notices, digital projects for Pest Control, Bulky Waste, MASH Multi Agency safeguarding hub, Body Storage mortuaries, and Discretionary Housing Payments, Single View (SystemC) going live, Groupwork (SystemC) new module going live, Bottomline PTX Drive transitioned to AMT, Modern.Gov transitioned to AMT, File Transfers/Scripting transitioned to AMT, automation developed & introduced for LAS/LCS user management, and a utility (software) developed & implemented to monitor and alert on key server health.

Southwark presented on improving its partnership with Shared Technology Services (STS), addressing digital inclusion and infrastructure expansion, cybersecurity measures, the Modern Data Platform (MDP) transitioning to Microsoft Fabric, Robotic Process Automation (RPA) being actively deployed, AI being scaled across the council, Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) being positioned to replace the legacy F5 VPN, and the Laptop Refresh Programme.
