Barnet Pension Fund has reallocated £75 million from equities into government index-linked bonds as part of a de-risking strategy specifically for the Middlesex University portion of the fund. This strategic shift was a key point of discussion at the Pension Fund Committee meeting held on Monday, September 14, 2026.

The substantial increase in net returns on investments, rising from £52.8 million to £137.8 million, was partly attributed to this £75 million reallocation. The move from equities to government index-linked bonds is designed to reduce volatility and secure the assets allocated to Middlesex University.
