Havering Council's Place Overview & Scrutiny Sub Committee has committed to reviewing the local authority's preparedness for emergencies as part of its work programme for the upcoming year.
The committee, which met on Tuesday, 15 September 2026, identified emergency plan preparedness as one of several key topics to be investigated. This review will evaluate how well both the council and its residents are prepared for potential emergencies, including cyber-attacks and disruptions to essential services.
This decision comes as the committee began to populate its work programme for the 2026-2027 municipal year.
