Herd immunity
The indirect protection from an infectious disease that happens when a population is immune either through vaccination or immunity developed through previous infection. The indirect protection from an infectious disease that is conferred to an susceptible host when a large percentage of the population has become immune to an infection, thereby providing a measure of protection for individuals who are not immune.
