Net-zero operational carbon

A state where the amount of carbon dioxide emitted by the operation of a building or development is balanced by the amount removed from the atmosphere. The goal of achieving a balance between the carbon dioxide emitted and the carbon dioxide removed from the atmosphere in the operation of new buildings.
