In brief
Councillor Victoria Lupton questioned whether a reduction in EHCPs would evidence children receiving support earlier or be a financial measure. The councillor proposed a detailed review of post-16 educational outcomes, stating that while pre-16 results are strong, post-16 attainment is less strong and the borough is outperformed by neighbouring boroughs. Councillor Lupton also highlighted parental concerns about young people vaping at school.
