Bexley schools are celebrating high praise following recent inspection updates, according to the SACRE Local Report presented at the Bexley Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education (SACRE) meeting on Wednesday.
Several schools have achieved 'Outstanding' or 'Good' ratings, reflecting the hard work and dedication of staff and students. The report, part of the Public reports pack, highlighted the specific areas that contributed to these ratings.
- Chatsworth – Outstanding in 4 areas / Good in one area. Inspectors noted that pupils take full advantage of what the school offers, including clubs, visits to places of worship, parks, and London museums.
- Danson Primary School – Good. The school is expected to receive a graded inspection next time due to significant improvements in all areas since the last inspection. The school has a broad and ambitious curriculum with expertly sequenced knowledge, skills, and vocabulary. Pupils connect knowledge across the curriculum securely.
- St John Fisher Catholic Primary School – Outstanding in 4 areas / Good in one area. Inspectors found that pupils understand the importance of charity and show care and compassion to others, and that pupils' attitudes to learning and wider school life are exceptional.
- Pelham Primary School - Outstanding in 1 area / Good in 4 areas. The school's personal, social, health and economic programme ensures that pupils have a strong understanding of equality and diversity in modern Britain.
- East Wickham Primary Academy – remains Good. Inspectors highlighted that pupils' behaviour is extremely positive, and they take pride in looking after each other. Pupils enjoy opportunities to develop their character and contribute to the community.
- Blackfen School for Girls – remains Good. Pupils learn an increasingly broad curriculum, and the school has promoted greater take up of subjects that make up the English Baccalaureate (EBacc). In the sixth form, there is an impressive range of courses for students to choose from.
- Harris Academy Falconwood - Good. The school is expected to receive a graded inspection next time due to significant improvements in all areas since the last inspection. Inspectors found that work to promote pupils' wider development and prepare them for the next phase of their lives is especially strong.
The report also noted that reports are awaited from Christ Church Primary, Our Lady of the Rosary Primary, Marlborough Special School, and Shenstone Special School.
