Lambeth Council Sub-Committee to Scrutinise Long-Term Homelessness Services

Lambeth Council's Adult Social Care and Health Scrutiny Sub-Committee has agreed to scrutinise the provision of services for individuals experiencing long-term homelessness.

During a meeting on Monday, October 5, 2026, councillors added the topic to the committee's future work programme, following a proposal by Councillor Liam Daley. The sub-committee will now investigate the current service provision for those facing long-term homelessness and their associated needs.

The decision to scrutinise this area comes as the committee reviewed its work programme for the upcoming year. Councillor Daley's suggestion was met with interest from other members, including Councillor Simon Bucknall, who expressed a desire to explore potential connections with HMP Brixton in relation to this topic.
